  Hi all, &lt;br&gt; Wikipedia&#39;s article on axiom of choice states that Tarski proved &lt;br&gt; that the statement if X is infinite then X is bijectively equivalent &lt;br&gt; to XxX is equivalent to axiom of choice. I know how to prove that AC &lt;br&gt; implies X=XxX for infinite X. I am curious to know the proof in the &lt;br&gt; other direction. Does anyone know a reference for this? It seems

  I often have difficulty explaining my logic to other people. I&#39;m not &lt;br&gt; sure if that is because they&#39;re dumb or prejudiced or because I&#39;m not &lt;br&gt; explaining it well. In this particular case, you&#39;re putting up a straw &lt;br&gt; man. &lt;br&gt; The connection between &#39;the metric system&#39; and &#39;white guilt&#39; can not &lt;br&gt; be made in a single step, and you&#39;re asking as though it should.
