When entering gmail website using konqueror isnt possible to use the regular view, is needed to use the basic html to be able to browse normally.
To be able to render in normal view i need to identify konqueror as firefox and even so isnt possible to render all links, or to use the chat window, it normally fails to render all pages.
I have talked with some kde developers that said the problem remains in gmail site since it have bad code. So i have opened the debug window and voila, so many script errors...
Konqueror is one of the few browsers that passes in W3C standards, and that it passes the ACID2 test (not even Firefox, or Opera, and even worst Internet Explorer pass those tests), so how can be possible that Konqueror isnt supported by GMail?
Sorry, it's just a matter of Gmail being developed for the most common browsers. If those browsers can't handle every standard, then Google has to use the things they actually do support. They can't be idealistic about it. As browsers get better, then Gmail can become more standards compliant as well.

Seams your really missing the point, you should follow this thread and take conscience of whats really happening since konqueror follow all standards and haves a good code in oposition to whats in gmail site:

That is the point. In a perfect world all web apps would follow standards but in the real world developers build apps to run on the most popular platforms.

The point is that gmal isnt able to follow standards and develop a clean code, so why should konqueror, that is one of the few browsers that passes W3C standards and ACID2 test, start adapting to unclean bad code?
Really dont want to bash anyone or criticize others work, im just calling some attention to the fact that gmail could start developing clean code, follow standards and support a browser with correct code.

Hi Zé
I totally agree with you, Konqueror should not be adapting to unclean code and Google should clean up their code.

That's cool but how do you make the change? How do you convince Google that there are enough Konqueror (and other compliant browsers) users out there for them to take it seriously. On the busiest website I manage (~70GB/month) Konqueror doesn't even feature in the stats. Even Camino and K-meleon appear and they are both Gecko based.

This is the identification that konqueror sends: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/4.4; Linux) KHTML/4.4.1 (like Gecko)
If big sites like gmail start doing a clean code without bugs, users would also start using konqueror much more since it wouldnt stop rendering pages when entering gmail
And there are many KDE users (konqueror its KDE default browser, and KDE its one of WM most used in linux world).
Here the main question is: Why gmail developers continue doing it?
Why not at least review the code so that users could use konqueror (at least they could identify konqueror as firefox for example, since firefox its one the the gmail supported browsers, entering that way in gmail webpages), and not forcing gmail developers to set konqueror as a supported browser, konqueror doesnt need it, only needs a clean code.
